71% of you don’t have time for this….

Mar 12, 2014

Happiness. Yep. Surprising isn’t it.

71% of you don’t have time for happiness.

Yet when you ask most people what they want out of life the answer is “to be happy.”

I want to let you in on a little something. I’m happy. Every day. Even on days when I have the flu, get news that throws me a curve ball or a hurdle, pay my taxes and go to the dentist.

I’m happy because I make a choice, every day, to recognize the people, events and things in my life that make me happy. I’ve also discovered that day-to-day, long lived happiness comes from the small, day-to-day things that can be easily over looked or taken for granted. The big things like vacations, graduations, accomplishments, etc. give us an extra boost but they are short lived and play less of a part in living a happy life than most of us expect.

This morning a Facebook friend posted this #100happydays challenge and I instantly decided to participate. Not for myself because I am keenly aware of all the little things in my life that bring me joy and make me happy. I decided to participate for you as a peek inside my brain (which I invite you to pick!) and to inspire you – perhaps to take the challenge yourself or maybe just to help you become more aware of all the happiness in your own life.

Follow me on Instagram, user name yogaflirt, and/or #happyqueenflirt and #100happydays to see all the things that make me happy – I can’t wait to share them with you.

  1. Cathy,

Have you heard of the Happier? It’s an online and mobile app gratitude journal where you share …yup, HAPPY MOMENTS.

Give it a peak at http://www.happier.com. I really enjoy using it and then looking back at memories I’ve forgotten. And you can choose to share or keep things private.

Thanks for all you do. -lmb
